Joshua Swinford is a photojournalist and writer working across sports and editorial coverage, focused on decisive moments as they unfold. His work combines timing, composition, and observational awareness to produce narrative-driven images and reporting grounded in context and intent. He is the founder of Nine & Plum, an editorial-first visual journalism platform framed by disciplined execution.

Following his military service, Joshua built his career in fine dining, rising from line cook to chef de cuisine before becoming a corporate executive chef for a multi-location fast casual group. He later moved into a director of operations role, along with consulting work. He brings a disciplined, process-driven approach to his work, shaped by years operating in high-performance, high-stress environments.

He is also a disabled U.S. Army veteran having served in the Iraq War, where he sustained injuries that ended his military service. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart among other medals and awards.

Joshua studied Operations Management at the University of Alabama, Culinary Arts at the Midwest Culinary Institute, and is currently pursuing a degree in Communications at Western Governors University.
